How 45 Minutes A Day Of 'ME' Time Has Changed my life!

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like if you were able to squeeze in an hour a day to just focus on yourself and your well-being?  I have always said that I was going to do this, but somehow life always got in the way. Between having four kids, my husband working from home, and a lot of animals to tend, I just seemed to put myself last on the list of to-do’s!  However, over the last four weeks I changed this ALL up and I can’t wait to share with you all how 45 minutes a day of ‘ME’ time is changing my life!

Can you relate to this? Too much to accomplish each day to be able to focus on yourself? Saying “I am going to start tomorrow” then something else happens and you go right back down to the bottom of the list?

When I committed to this project a few weeks ago, I knew that I would really need the help from others to keep myself on track. That is when I made the decision to let you all know about what I was doing, so that I would have you all to hold me accountable!

I am soooooo glad that I did this, because without you all waiting for results, I would have probably have put myself at the bottom of my to-do list AGAIN!

ProjectMe

ProjectMe is a program that I decided join a few weeks ago. This project is designed to make becoming a healthier version of you, simple and easy! It consists of 2 shakes per day (that are amazing), healthy snacks, and healthy dinner, along with vitamins and other supplements that help you to burn calories and give you energy while boosting your immune system, etc.

I partnered with them because they have an incredible support system, provide nutrition information, workouts, and a community of incredibly supportive people. It has been a wonderful experience for me so far and I look forward to continuing with them!

When joining ProjectMe I decided to add my own portion to the program, because I knew in order to stick with it, it had to be more than a nutritional program! So….I made a pact that NO MATTER what ProjectMe would be 45-60 minutes of ME TIME each and every day!

How I define ProjectMe/ProjectYou:

  1. Fun

  2. Easy

  3. Good nutrition

  4. Exercise for at least 15 minutes per day

  5. Read something daily that inspires me

  6. Meditate for 5 minutes per day

  7. Write in my Gratitude Journal each and every day

  8. Connect with my passions and desires in life

  9. Focus on my goals and visions for my future

  10. Use affirmations daily

  11. Remember daily that I AM worth the time I am putting into myself

I joined ProjectMe because I no longer had the fire that I once had. I was tired, I was struggling to remember what my dreams were, I wasn’t happy with my appearance, my energy levels, or who I was at that point, so I knew I had to make a change and I did.

What is ProjectYou?

ProjectYou is the exact same program as above ,WITHOUT the nutrition! 45-60 minutes of YOU time every single day, your own proper nutrition program, exercise, and EVERYTHING else is exactly the same as ProjectMe! The ONLY change is that you provide your nutrition and exercises!

I just wanted everything to be as easy as can be, that is why I joined ProjectMe. I knew that I needed the best nutrition  for myself, and I needed it to be EASY and affordable so I could focus on other areas of my life!

Alright…enough details of the programs! As I mentioned before, you can read all about these programs at the bottom of this page! Because right now I want to dive right in a tell you how excited I am about all of the results that I am seeing so far!!!

The RESULTS I am already seeing from ProjectMe and how 45 minutes a day of ‘ME’ time is changing my life!

The results have been amazing for me so far!!! I can’t even begin to tell you all that I have accomplished since I started just a few short weeks ago. This has ALL happened, just by putting myself first for 45-60 minutes a day!!! It sounds crazy, right? Well….it IS!!!

I had no idea that it could be so freeing! But I will tell you, the first part of this journey was TOUGH for me!!! That may even be an understatement! I have never put myself first, so as I would block the time off for myself, I would find myself looking around, staring at the house thinking ‘laundry needs to be done, floors need to be scrubbed, I need to write for my blog, the animals need fed,’……it NEVER stops! Right???

Finally, I decided to get ear buds, stick them in, put my blinders on, and focus on the task at hand…ME!

I felt like I had to go outside to do this, so I did! Which ended up being even MORE fantastic! Cool, fresh air, the sounds of all of the animals, nothing could be better! It is the perfect spot for me to be me!


How 45 Minutes A Day Of 'ME' Time Has Changed my life!

Everyday, for the last few weeks I head on down to the sandbar to fill up my cup up and this is what I have found:

1. First, I found that I was a TOTAL disaster when I started ProjectMe!

Not joking, I was…maybe I still am, emotionally, physically, and mentally done! This year has taken a toll on me and I didn’t even realize how bad it had gotten. Grieving the loss of my 18 year old nephew had become so much that I didn’t even realize where my emotions were. So, I had to re-open that wound in order to try deal with those emotions in a different, healthier way.

If you have suffered loss, you’ll understand that. However, it is much easier said than done AND it is something that takes a VERY LONG time. I have learned, once again, that I need to be patient and go through the emotions NOT go around them.

This is the FIRST and MOST important lesson I learned during my 45-60 minutes of self discovery!

2. Second, I learned that I had lost all focus on what I wanted in life!

I know that I am not the only one who has done this, right? It is easy to do, especially when you are very busy! For me, and many of you as well, our lives have been turned upside down and I guess I didn’t know which end was up anymore!

So, by spending quiet time by myself, exercising, meditating, reading, and sometimes just sitting outside listening to nature, I started to figure things out. Little by little, I found out what I didn’t like about where I was in life and I knew I had to take the time to focus on where I wanted to be in life.

This is VERY important! I realized I had been stuck in a rut and I was just accepting that this is the way life was. I had somehow forgotten that I am in charge of my life and I shouldn’t settle for anything that I don’t want. We create our lives and want we want in them…we should never settle!

This was definitely a wake up call for me! I am so grateful for this lesson!

3. Third, I remembered what I AM passionate about!

I had lost it, I will be honest with you! I had NO idea what my passions were anymore! But in that self discovery mode where I found out what I didn’t like, I really started paying attention to what I did like and the more I paid attention to my passions, the more they became clear!

I would have NEVER found this right now, if I wouldn’t have taken the time to listen to myself! THIS is why ProjectMe/ProjectYou is SO important! It is not all about weight loss for me, but rediscovering who I am, and becoming a healthier better version of me!!! That is SO important!

I remembered how much I LOVE riding my horses and being outdoors with all of our animals. That is something I am passionate about, so I have been taking the time to ride a few times a week and I absolutely LOVE it! I have even started giving riding lessons, which makes me have to do what I love! What could be better?

You MUST find your passion in life in order to really love to your true potential! Do you know what your passions are? Do you really remember what you LOVE doing???

4. Fourth, I gained CLARITY on what I really want out of life.

How many of you are clear on what you REALLY want in life right now? I thought that I was, and I may have been at one time. However, life is so fluid and continues to change, so when you suffer a tragedy or several in a row,  you really need to regain clarity, as everything has probably shifted! I know with me it had shifted to a point where everything was unrecognizable.

During this process, I learned that life is short and we are our happiest when we are doing what we love to do! We thrive in all areas when we are following our passions. Our health is great, we are energized, our relationships thrive, our finances are better, stress levels are lower, spiritually we are more connected, and overall we seem to be happier.

On this short rediscovery journey with ProjectMe, it became very clear to me what I wanted out of life. Each day, I wrote in my gratitude journal about what I was grateful for, as well as what things I enjoyed in doing in life. Out of my daily writing came a defined outline of what brings joy to me….what a gift this was to me!!!

It was a total new beginning for me and I can’t wait to be sharing it all with you very soon!

5. Fifth, I have been able to create new goals, all based around what I truly desire. I have an entirely NEW vision on what I want to create in life!

How exciting is that? Don’t get me wrong, a lot of my desires are still the same because I love helping people and animals, however everything has been enhanced 10 fold!!!

Very recently, I had to make some very important decisions in life. One decision seemed to be the smartest decision to help out right now, but as I moved forward with that decision I just felt sick. Literally, physically sick. That is when I knew I had to dig deeper, not only believe in myself, but my passions as well, and follow the path that I know I am supposed to be on.

The scary path without any guarantees! The path that makes everyone a little nervous and uncomfortable. But, I know it is worth it because I am happy and laser focused on everything that I want to do. I can see exactly what I want to create and I know that I will.

It is amazing that I was able to receive the courage to move forward with this! I know that it was all just from spending the time on myself, filling my cup, researching, reading, exercising, eating better, it all gave me the fuel to get this point! It all made everything so clear.

I couldn’t be more grateful for making the decision to do ProjectMe!

6. Sixth, I have more energy, have lost a few pounds and inches, and overall I FEEL BETTER! I feel more like myself again!!!!

Seriously, isn’t this what life is about? Feeling good, having energy, being healthy, focused, and living out your purpose? I wish everyone could understand how important it is to put time into themselves….I wish I would have done it sooner…truly I do! But everything happens for a reason and I believe now was the right time for me.

Is it the right time for you???

When you feel better about yourself and have more energy it makes it easier to see what your passions and goals are. When I am tired, my outlook on life gets foggy, and nothing seems clear. That is why it is important to at least follow some portion of ProjectMe/ProjectYou every single day!!!

By doing this, it gives you the confidence to continue making those little steps each and every day, that end up leading to MASSIVE changes over a period of time! This didn’t happen to me in a few days or a week! I am STILL working daily on myself, but I started seeing results over that first couple weeks which inspired me to continue and I am GRATEFUL that I did!!!

7. Seventh, I realized quickly that I MATTER!!!

That seems to be something that we should all know, right? Seems pretty standard and easy…however, it is not that easy! I realized that I have been running on reserves for a very long time and I don’t even know where they have come from, but I am grateful they were there.

Have you felt that way???

I noticed that by just getting through life on reserves my family had all become stagnant as well. No one was thriving, we were all just surviving! This is not a good place to be! As soon as I started making time for myself, I started seeing a shift….not only in me but everyone else involved too!

It wasn’t fast….but it was there! And that was enough for me to know that I had to continue on this path!

I had finally realized that by putting myself first, I was actually helping everyone that I love!!! What a gift that is, right?
