With the holidays right around the corner, I am so excited to have a couple of fun activities that your entire family will love!
Why is ‘Gratitude’ important & how does it benefit your life?
Because I have been able to change my life by using gratitude, I am very passionate about gratitude! I LOVE spreading the word to as many people as I can, because if gratitude can change my life, it can change anyone’s!
When you are grateful for what you already have, you receive more to be grateful for!
We become aware of all that we have, especially the little things that we use on a daily basis that makes our lives easier.
These activities teach our children to be grateful for everything that they have.

1. Gratitude Cards.
These cards are GREAT conversation starters!
They are great for getting to know one another even better!
They are a GREAT way to introduce Gratitude into everyone’s lives in a subtle, more meaningful way.
How to use them.
Download your FREE set of 36 Gratitude Cards. They are designed to be used for 30 days. 🙂
Cut out your cards. There will be 36 cards total.
Each day draw 1 card from the deck.It is most beneficial if you can draw from the deck in the morning, so that you have your entire day to think about your card’s prompt & finish your task if you received one.
If you can, read your card out loud to your entire family. If everyone is not present snap a picture of the card & send it to them so that you all know what your task or question is.
At dinner that same evening, or at some point when you are all together take turns discussing your answers to the questions presented on your card for that day.In my family we will discuss this at dinner because we all try to spend that time together every evening.Don’t rush your answers & really take the time to listen to other’s answers. You will not only learn more about one another, it will start you thinking about gratitude in a whole new way. It makes us become more aware of how much we have to be grateful for in a fun, creative way! Have fun with this & get as many people involved as you can! This was designed to be used for 30 days to get the full effect! There are 6 bonus cards that you can use at anytime! It truly is a great way to introduce gratitude to one another, keep a positive & inspiring environment, & retrain our brain to think in a more grateful way!
ENJOY this…it is fun & PERFECT for the month of Thanksgiving & Christmas!
Pass out cards to each person at Thanksgiving & or Christmas dinner & have them each discuss their answers with you! It is SO much fun & a great thing to discuss on the holidays! It creates a great, positive, & uplifting energy that is contagious!!!
If you are looking for something a little more creative than you can create a Gratitude Tree! It is another fun, free project that is great for all ages! Here is how to create your Gratitude tree!
2. Gratitude Tree.
This is a fun & creative project that everyone will enjoy! It doesn’t have to be elaborate or time-consuming, remember it is the thought that counts! Have fun & get everyone involved! 🙂
How to create your Gratitude Tree.
What you will need:
Scissors, construction paper, felt, or fabric for your leaves, twigs, thin ribbon or thin wire, & a vase.
Creating your tree:
Download your leaf pattern.
Gather twigs from outside for your tree or you can buy bare trees from Micheal’s or Hobby Lobby. I gathered my branches from a bush in our back yard. My branches are 14″ long, but you can make them as long or short as you would like them to be.
Place your twigs into your vase, arranging them however you want them to be.
Once you have everything gathered, cut out 30 leaves from your pattern. (My kids love cutting them out! :))
Cut 30 pieces of string, ribbon, or wire just long enough to attach your leaf to your tree branches.
30 Day Gratitude Tree Activity.
Each day have a member of your family write what they are grateful for on a leaf & place it on your tree. Never write the same thing down twice, so at the end of your 30 days you have a big, beautiful Gratitude Tree!
It is fun to watch it expand & grow with everyone’s gratitude! You’ll be amazed when you read through your tree at the end of the month of how many different things that you all are grateful for!
These projects were designed for everyone to be able to use! There are no excuses to have some fun & spread gratitude throughout your family!
If you are doing this activity please send in pictures of your trees as you are adding to them daily! I would also love to hear some of your responses to the Gratitude Cards!
This month I will be sharing gratitude videos each & every day & would love for you all to send some in!
